People have been sailing on Albert Park Lake for over 150 years.

In its current form, the Boatshed was established in 2008 by Yachting Victoria as part of a training initiative. We’re now a part of Australian Sailing, the PEAK Body for sailing in Australia.

Our large fleet of boats and a team of experienced instructors; we can provide training and experiences to customers and individuals that clubs often don’t have the resources or capacity to provide.

Our aim is not to compete with sailing clubs around the state, but rather to help as many people as possible to experience and fall in love with sailing, to build their skills and move onto membership of a local sailing club.

Creating a fun and safe learning environment is our key priority. Not only do we have all our safety policies and qualifications in place; we continuously work hard to make sure that The Boatshed is a place where our participants feel safe and come away having enjoyed their experience.
