Primary School Sailing

We offer a variety of solutions from introductory sessions to Australian Sailing’s full nationally accredited programs. All of our programs are delivered by our experienced & professional Australian Sailing qualified instructors. Our programs are flexible to meet your school’s need with number of sessions, session length, session times and number of participants. All of our sessions tap into the fundamental skills that children need to develop as they grow up, promoting:

  • Water Safety
  • Self-reliance
  • Problem Solving
  • Decision making
  • Confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Independence

The Program: For Primary Schools we offer Australian Sailing’s Tackers program which is designed especially for children (7-12 years) as a non-competitive sailing program based on fun and participation. The objective of the Tackers program is to attract a significantly increased number of primary school age children to sailing, especially those who would not otherwise participate. Students can participate in an initial ‘Fun’ introductory sailing experience before progressing on to a learn-to-sail program. Fundamental skill foundation and enthusiasm for long term participation are fostered within Tackers through the 3 progressive levels of the program. From there we offer a pathway into non-competitive participation and club membership. Tackers is also available through Sporting Schools.
